Indian captain Virat Kohli indicated that ‘Mohammed Shami’ could return to the team for the fourth Test against Australia in Dharamsala. Shami was out of the team due to prolonged injury. He came back to the ground for the Vijay Hazare Trophy final on Monday, taking four wickets for 26 runs in 8.2 overs. His team lost this match, but with his performance, Team India management has started thinking about his return to the Indian team.
Shami is India’s leading fast bowler, but due to fitness problems, he has not played any Test matches since November 2016. Captain Virat Kohli had complete faith in him, and this has led to an increase in the expectations of playing of Shami’s in the last Test. Well, before making any such decision, the team management would like to take full information about Shami’s fitness.
At the end of the last day of the match, Australia made 204 runs and lost six wickets in their second innings and hence India could not taste the victory.
Australia scored 451 runs in their first innings. India took the lead of 152 runs by declaring their first innings at 603 for nine wickets.
India had tried to win the match by putting 152 runs lead on Australians on the last day, but Australia saves the match by 124 runs partnership for the fifth wicket between Peter Handscomb (72 not out) and Shaun Marsh (53). They were lucky to draw the match at the end.
Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets for India. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma took one wicket each.
